Market Cross Surgery is looking for new members to join our Patient Participation Group (PPG) which has dwindled in numbers recently.
What is the Role of the Patient Group?
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients, carers and GP practice staff who meet to discuss practice issues and patient experience to help improve the service. The PPG’s role is to:
• Be a critical friend to the practice
• Advise the practice on the patient perspective and providing insight into the responsiveness and quality of services
• Encourage patients to take greater responsibility for their own and their family’s health
• Carry out research into the views of those who use the practice
• Organise health promotion events and improving health literacy
• Have regular communication with the patient population.
We would like to have a good representation of our patient population on the group so encourage anyone over the age of 16 to submit an expression of interest. The group meets at the practice on a quarterly basis for an hour in the early evening.
If you would like to volunteer to join the group please email our Administration Team on [email protected] or collect an application form from reception (also available to download from our website – https://www.marketcross-surgery.co.uk/ )
